More football thoughts.
Oh wow, the commentator read out a few texts people had sent in and one of them was something like ‘I wonder how much the ref was paid by the football league to screw us over’ and it has irked me. That kind of mindless whining is not what we’re about and you should know that, that’s not what Pompey supporters do, yeah it often does seem like everyone/thing is conspiring against us and that’s when we fight harder and everything gets interesting. Pompey supporters would not have such a good reputation if we all sat around complaining about circumstances being difficult instead of going out there and chanting and cheering and actually supporting our team. I remember being a child when we were in a championship relegation battle and going to matches and being amazed at the atmosphere and I don’t know the right word to describe it but I think I’ll say spirit. I’m sure that winning the league attracted half-arsed wanker fans, I had a season ticket for the season before promotion, the season when we went up ,and our first two seasons in the premiership, and the atmosphere definitely went downhill for a while, I think we’ve nearly got it back but it just really fucks me off when people say things like that, we are fighters not bloody victims.
